First introduced in 1985, this machine is a symbol of Malaysian motorization, because it was the first car manufactured there. Since that time a second generation was launched in 2008 as a four door saloon in sumbcompact cars class. Designed to be light, quite powerful and agile, a used Proton Saga is a very good choice if you look for an economical machine. A second generation used Proton Saga is equipped just like its predecessor with rather small engines (there are two options), but their performance is significantly better. A 1,3 litre Campro plant produces 94 horsepower, while a 1,6 litre unit can produce 114 horsepower, which allows the used Proton Saga to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h) in about 11 seconds (the smaller unit does the same in 13 seconds). Fuel economy of the car is also quite amazing, mostly due to the use of a IAFM system (Integrated Air-Fuel Module), which is responsible for better airflow through the engine. As a result a used Proton Saga needs about 6 litres of fuel for 60 miles. Suspension of the car consists of the MacPherson struts and a stabilizer bar at the front and a torsion beam at the rear. The car brakes strongly, however you should know that itβs not equipped with ABS.
